Rajeev Khandelwal reminisces meeting Dev Anand after his debut in Aamir!
Dev Anand, the late great, was one of the most popular and influential performers in Hindi cinema history. The actor, who is best known for roles in films like Johny Mera Naam, Kala Pani, Guide, Jewel Thief, Hum Dono, C.I.D., and Hare Rama Hare Krishna, among others, made a significant impact on Hindi cinema for a number of years.

After Aamir, Rajeev Khandelwal's first film, Dev Anand had desired to sign him for a picture. The Showtime star shares all about their first meeting, including this detailed account.

Rajeev Khandelwal talked about meeting the late great Dev Anand in a media interview when the latter asked him to be in a movie in 2008. Khandelwal wanted to meet him even if he didn't want to sign his movie.

The Aamir actor remembered that he simply took his camera to Dev Anand.

Khandelwal revealed that he typically avoids touching people's feet unless it is to show reverence to his elders, whom he deeply admires. The 48-year-old actor knelt to put his hand on Dev Anand's legendary feet.

"I went to Dev saab and I touched his feet. He stopped me there and asked 'what are you doing?' I said 'sir, you inspire me'," he remembered.

Quoting Dev Anand, Khandelwal further revealed, "If that is the case then I should be touching your feet because youngsters like you inspire me a lot."

Khandelwal was taken aback by Dev Anand's show of extreme reverence for him.

Among the well-known movies directed by Rajeev Khandelwal are Aamir, Table No. 21, Shaitan, and Court Martial.
