Kiran Rao wants to watch Ranbir Kapoor's Animal! Wed March 13th, 2024

Kiran Rao is currently enjoying great success with her most recent film project, Laapataa Ladies. After Kiran was said to have addressed misogyny in his previous work, Kabir Singh, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga recently made a subtle jab at her. In a recent interview, Kiran acknowledged the excitement around Sandeep's work and expressed how excited she was to watch Animal, which stars Ranbir Kapoor.

Director Kiran Rao talked about the favorable reviews her second film, Laapataa Ladies, has been getting at a media discussion. She revealed that she had received a ton of calls and texts and thanked everyone for their unwavering love and support. Kiran acknowledged the discrepancy that frequently occurs between popular preferences and critical judgments and also admitted to being surprised by the positive responses from critics.

As she considered the state of film today, Kiran saw that audiences were more drawn to exciting, action-packed movies with lots of special effects and excitement. She gave the example of Animal to illustrate this tendency.

Kiran said she hadn't seen Animal yet, but she was excited to watch it when the question was posed. She revealed, “I want to see it.” She underlined how important it is to see the movie, given its enormous popularity and critical praise.

Kiran expressed her intense desire once more, saying, “Aur maine suna hai unka craft bahut hi accha hai, Sandeep Reddy Vanga ka craft. Aur Ranbir toh hai hi acche actor” (And I have heard that Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s craft is very good. And Ranbir Kapoor is a great actor). She said in closing that although she thinks it would be a "interesting" viewing, the positive response from viewers just makes her want to see it for herself.
