Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman to return on screen with a Practical Magic sequel! Wed June 12th, 2024

Warner Bros. has officially confirmed a Practical Magic sequel, which will no doubt excite fans as Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman are likely to make a reappearance on screen. The announcement was made on the production company's TikTok account, which featured the well-known Lime in The Coconut sequence from the popular 1998 movie. The caption of the post said, "Me and the girls learning that Practical Magic 2 is happening." The TikTok's caption said, "Me and the girls finding out that Practical Magic 2 is happening."

According to a media website, Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman, who played the Owen sisters in the first movie, are anticipated to come back and continue in their roles. They will also take up production duties with original producer Denise Di Novi, while screenwriter Akiva Goldsman—best known for Batman and Robin, The Da Vinci Code, and The Dark Tower—will return to work on the screenplay.

Alice Hoffman's book of the same name served as the inspiration for Practical Magic. Since then, Hoffman has released three more books set in a magical world: Magic Lessons (2020), The Book of Magic (2021), and The Rules of Magic (2017). The Book of Magic is the continuation of the events in the original manuscript, while the first two serve as a preface to the 1995 book. Although the plot is yet unknown, it is most likely based on the book's sequel.
