Annu Kapoor recalls Priyanka Chopra's hesitation to kiss him during 7 Khoon Maaf!
Recently, Annu Kapoor talked candidly about his collaboration with Priyanka Chopra on 7 Khoon Maaf. Rumors surfaced back in 2011 that the actress had declined to kiss him when they were filming. Looking back on the situation, Kapoor said she probably wouldn't have objected if he had been the movie's protagonist, adding that the discomfort may have been caused by his appearance and lack of the "hero" character.
 
In a media interview, Annu Kapoor discussed an event that occurred during the making of 7 Khoon Maaf. He appeared beside Priyanka Chopra in a private scene as Inspector Keemat Lal. When Vishal Bhardwaj said that it made Priyanka uncomfortable, Kapoor proposed to eliminate the scene.
 
Vishal Bhardwaj, however, insisted that the moment be filmed, so Kapoor did so and even got a compliment from the crew for a solo shot. Rumors quickly circulated that Priyanka had declined to kiss him in spite of this. Looking back, Annu said that there probably wouldn't have been a problem if he had been the leader.
 
He revealed, “The simple thing is, if I were a hero, Priyanka Chopra wouldn't have had any problem. She doesn't have any problem kissing a hero. Then there is me. I don't have a face. I don't have a personality. That's why there's a problem."
 
Priyanka Chopra plays Susanna Anna-Marie Johannes, an Anglo-Indian woman with a turbulent love life, in Vishal Bhardwaj's dark comedy 7 Khoon Maaf, which is inspired on Ruskin Bond's short story Susanne's Seven Husbands. In this perverse story of love and treachery, Annu Kapoor portrays Kimmat Lal, an inspector and one of her husbands.
