Nadaaniyan Backlash: Hansal Mehta Reacts
In March 2025, Nadaaniyan, which starred Khushi Kapoor and Ibrahim Ali Khan, was made available on Netflix. The crowd didn't react very favorably to the romantic comedy. The lead couple was also the target of some criticism. In response to this criticism, Hansal Mehta has recently described it as "harsh." It must be "traumatizing" for the young actors, he added.

Hansal Mehta was questioned about his thoughts on the unfavorable reaction to Nadaaniyan during a media chat. He revealed, “I do feel that people are being very harsh and unfair.” The director questioned whether anyone had even verified the actors' preparedness prior to their premiere. The remarks made by the audience, he said, have been in "terrible taste." “I'm sure it must be traumatizing for the young people,” he further revealed.
Hansal went on to say that people have forgotten that many famous children's parents also had "awkward" debuts. However, he thought that because social media wasn't around at the time, it didn't get much attention.

Hansal Mehta added, nevertheless, that before releasing the performers, the producers had to make sure they are ready. He advised them not to rely solely on their family background to determine their goodness.

Hansal remembered contacting one of the star kids for a film during the chat, which was out of the ordinary for a novice. He disclosed that their advisors believed they need to be taking a more traditional approach. The director of Buckingham Murders revealed that the consultants wanted their actors to have the same "mounting" as Tiger Shroff, Hrithik Roshan, Sunny Deol, or Kumar Gaurav.

The celebrity youngsters wanted to be launched with a large banner, Hansal Mehta continued. He told, “They want that big banner; they want a big daddy to be advising them all the time.” When the audience ridiculed the performers, the director admitted that it pained him. He advised them to concentrate on their tasks. Hansal went on to say that when they do well in a film, they will be respected.

With Nadaaniyan, Ibrahim Ali Khan made his debut. Khushi Kapoor's second OTT project was the movie. You may watch the romantic comedy on Netflix.
