Zoya Akhtar responses why Javed Akhtar, Salim Khan didn't do interview together for Angry Young Men!
Angry Young Men, a documentary series, was released on Prime Video a few days ago. The series highlights the collaboration between Javed Akhtar and Salim Khan. It is co-produced by Zoya Akhtar's Tiger Baby Productions, Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment, and Salman Khan Films. During an interview, Zoya explained why the two great writers were not interviewed together in the documentary.

At the end of the three-part series, Angry Young Men, screenwriter Javed Akhtar, and Salim Khan posed for a picture but did not do an interview. When questioned why this happened, Zoya Akhtar informed a daily that it was director Namrata Rao's decision. She believes she had planned to do it that way.

In Rao's absence, The Archies director stated that as she started shooting them independently, patterns began to emerge in their lives, adventures, and personal lives. According to Zoya, Namrata presumably enjoyed the pattern that was building, and "that one meeting at the end gave it a perfect closure".

When she informed Akhtar of her directorial decision, she agreed with it. However, the producer-director stated that Rao should address the question.
Zoya Akhtar, Farhan Akhtar, and Arbaaz Khan are three directors who could have directed the documentary. But why would someone outside the family lead Angry Young Men? Many people may have asked themselves this question. In the same conversation, Zoya stated that they were looking for someone who was not related to them. She shared her motive, stating that she and Farhan are both directors. Sohail Khan could have done it, and Arbaaz is good at personal interviews.

“But one of the kids doing it is too personal, you don’t get that gaze, that kind of distance,” She commented that it's also interesting to have a woman because they have such a macho persona, “but they are very specifically male; they are not offensive males.” As a result, she desired a female perspective in the series, and Rao met all of her expectations.
