Angelina Jolie returns to screen as iconic opera singer in Pablo Larrain's biopic Maria!

One of the most renowned actors in Hollywood is Angelina Jolie. Following her famous performance in Interrupted in 1999, Jolie gained notoriety. Since then, Jolie has consistently made headlines for various reasons. But this time, she has a treat for her followers. Maria, the upcoming biopic from Pablo Larrain, will mark Angelina Jolie's comeback to the big screen. She'll take on the character of Maria Callas, a celebrated opera singer. The first trailer for the movie has been released, according to a media source, as Larrain gets ready to start shooting.
According to a media source, the first images from Pablo Larran's biography Maria show Angelina Jolie playing renowned opera singer Maria Callas. According to its official description, the most recent movie from the director of Jackie and Spencer will examine the life of the illustrious, iconic, and contentious singer who is frequently referred to as the original diva. "Based on true accounts, Maria tells the tumultuous, beautiful, and tragic story of the life of the world's greatest opera singer, relieved and re-imagined during her final days in 1970s Paris."
In a statement, Pablo Larrains said, “I am incredibly excited to start production on Maria, which I hope will bring Maria Callas’ remarkable life and work to audiences all around the world, thanks to the magnificent script by Steven Knight, the work of the entire cast and crew, and especially Angelina’s brilliant work and extraordinary preparation."
The clothing worn by Jolie is based on actual outfits worn by Callas, including vintage fur items from Massimo Cantini Parrini's archives collection, on which PETA collaborated to prevent the use of new fur. Juan de Dios Larran of Fabula, Jonas Dornbach of Komplizen Film, and Lorenzo Mieli of The Apartment are the producers of Maria. According to the article, FilmNation Entertainment will handle international distribution.
Angelina Jolie is currently getting ready to start production on Maria, Pablo Larrain's upcoming epic. However, she last contributed to Marvel's Eternals in 2021.
