Amanda Seyfried's decision to leave the hectic Hollywood industry has allowed her to finally achieve the work-life balance she has always desired. The Dropout actress started her career in Hollywood, but the hustle and bustle of the city proved to be too much, so she and her husband moved to an Upstate New York farm where they raised their two children.
After living in the peace and quiet of her farm in Upstate New York for a few years, Seyfried has no regrets about anything. The Mamma Mia! diva made it very evident in a Forbes interview that moving to her farm at a young age, before having children, was a fantastic choice.
She also explained how living in the country gave her the tranquility and peace of mind she much needed, something that city life would not be able to provide. The star of Crowded Room stated, "I moved upstate long before I had a family. Staying here was the best decision for privacy, peace, and nature. It offers a more balanced life than the city does." She emphasized how making this choice has also helped her mental health.
She claims that the thrill of returning home is unmatched, therefore moving to the country even made her excursions to the city enjoyable. She also said, "The next day I’ll be home and even happier in my boots in the mud feeding the animals."
The Mean Girls actress also talked about how moving to the farm strengthened her relationship with animals, especially her 15-year-old Australian Shepherd Finn. She has learned to value the relationships between people and animals and cherishes the relationship she has with her pets. In addition to Finn, she has begun caring for other farm animals, which she finds rewarding and thrilling.
Despite being one of the most well-known figures in Hollywood, Amanda Seyfried has made the decision to live a more private life away from the spotlight. She has joined other celebrities and Hollywood A-listers who have left Hollywood for a more grounded life, like Jason Segel from How I Met Your Mother, Ariel Winter from Modern Family, and Matthew McConaughey.
