Aamir Khan and his sister Nikhat tie Rakhi to each other on Raksha Bandhan! Tue August 20th, 2024

This year, Bollywood threw a lavish celebration for the important festival of Raksha Bandhan, and Aamir Khan joined in the fun. In multiple photos that his sister Nikhat Hegde shared on Instagram, the celebrity was spotted giving his sister some goodies and exchanging Rakhi with her. In addition to looking stunning in traditional attire, Aamir was observed giving his older sister Nikhat some candy.

The eldest child of director Tahir Hussain and his spouse Zeenat Hussain is Nikhat Khan Hegde. Farhat Khan Datta, her sister, and actors Aamir Khan and Faisal Khan are among her three siblings. Although Nikhat began her professional life as a producer and model, in recent years she has dabbled with acting. Her most recent role was as Shah Rukh Khan's foster mother in the 2023 comeback film Pathaan.

I find myself wondering why, since it's customary for the opposite to occur, Aamir Khan also attached Rakhi to his sister. In an interview with a daily, Nikhat recently disclosed, “Aamir ties us Rakhi too — ki aisa nahin hai ki only he has to protect us; we, too, have to protect him. So, hum unko aur woh humko Rakhi bandhtey hain, which is very sweet.” She disclosed in the same interview that their other sister Farhat is not in India and that she will do rituals on her behalf in addition to her profound absence.

“Last year, I was traveling, so she did it for me. Usually, we go to Aamir’s house and we do the little ritual of tika, with diya and mithai. Us din sweets ka bhi koi parhez nahin rehta, khila hi dete hain!,” revealed Nikhat adding that Her family takes great pleasure in celebrating festivities like Raksha Bandhan.

Regarding his career, Aamir Khan last appeared with Kareena Kapoor Khan in the movie Laal Singh Chaddha, which was released in 2022. The film met with an unfavorable end at the box office, but it received positive reviews upon its release for over-the-top streaming. The follow-up to his smash song Taare Zameen Par will have Khan in the lead role. Genelia Deshmukh will also be a part of the sports drama Sitaare Zameen Par.
