Soni Razdan recalls when she couldn't afford to purchase three business-class tickets!

With her mother, actress Soni Razdan, and father, acclaimed filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, Alia Bhatt was brought up in the film industry. Though they appeared to lead an opulent lifestyle, Alia's mother remembered that she raised her kids in a conventional middle-class home without any extravagance.
Soni Razdan revealed a reminiscence from a vacation she took to Dubai with her daughters, Alia and Shaheen, during a media conference for her book Raising Stars. Due to financial limitations, the family was unable to purchase three business-class tickets; therefore, Soni suggested that her girls take the economy route while she opted for first class. "I told my children, 'I will travel first class, and you guys travel economy.' They made a face", Soni remembered.
Recalling the trip, the Pippa actress said she checked on her children and saw something uncomfortable: her daughters had very little room because the person in the front seat had reclined. Soni suggested that the girls address the matter, but they declined to do so out of consideration for the elderly passenger. She highlighted that, looking back, the incident wasn't really that big of a deal.
She highlighted that her children hadn't earned enough to warrant business class travel when defending her choice for them to travel in economy. The simple idea was that individuals could choose to travel in business class if they could afford the cost themselves.
Though they never had much, Razdan noted that they managed well despite their financial situation. She emphasized that none of her two kids had an extravagant childhood; rather, they had a typical middle-class upbringing. Up until 2004, they were residing in a two-bedroom apartment. Razdan recalled driving her children to school in her Maruti Zen during that time.
The actress disclosed that Mahesh Bhatt's shift to producer was the only reason for her greater financial security. Mahesh's previous marriage to Kiran Bhatt left him responsible for two houses even back then, and they went on to have two more children, Rahul and Pooja Bhatt.
