AR Rahman reviews the Diljit Dosanjh-Parineeti Chopra starrer Amar Singh Chamkila!

AR Rahman's remarkable work has made him well-known internationally. It seems as though every piece of music a composer creates must strike the correct note. This time, he is working with Imtiaz Ali to compose the soundtrack for his next film, Amar Singh Chamkila, which is a biographical drama. The film chronicles the life of the same-named Punjabi singer. Rahman joked about the movie, calling it a "naughty picture" when discussing it.
AR Rahman discussed his future projects with a media source during a discussion. The Indian artist calls the Hindi movie Amar Singh Chamkila "naughty" in his remarks. Sharing the reason behind it, he told, “It is a very naughty picture; we had to find the place for music. If you look at it, Chamika is a composer, lyricist, and singer. The question I asked was, ‘Why am I needed?’ I said, ‘Oh! We can do this part. We can make it like a musical where everybody sings about Chamkila, blaming him for the good or the bad.’ That’s the director’s point of view, and that was exciting.”
Rahman also talked about his experience working with Imtiaz Ali throughout the conversation. He told, “I love working with Imtiaz. He is very friendly. You know, with certain people, work happens [just] like that, and there’s no pressure. With him, there’s never been pressure at all. I always wanted to do Punjabi music. I love the potency of the language in music. So, this was a great opportunity.”
