Ananya Panday talks about doing 'internal acting' on the first day of the filming Call Me Bae! Mon September 02nd, 2024

Ananya Panday is preparing to make her OTT debut with the online series Call Me Bae. However, before beginning filming for the Colin D'Cunha show, she appeared in Kho Gaye Hum Kahan and her unreleased film, CTRL. As a result, it took her some time to settle to the set of the eight-part series. During an interview, she admitted to performing internal acting on the first day of the filming.

When speaking with a media outlet, the Dream Girl 2 actress mentioned collaborating with the director of Call Me Bae. Ananya Panday claimed she was being very subtle. "I was doing internal acting," she explained. However, she was keen to point out that Colin D'Cunha was not impressed. As a result, he told her, "This will not work here, you need to put the energy up." It took them a few days to find their rhythm. They eventually discovered the right tone and began filming the series, which will launch on Prime Video on September 6, 2024.

During the same conversation, she also stated that working on the web series was like a breath of fresh air. She remembers having fun on set and playing with the other actors after working on Vikramaditya Motwane's thriller CTRL and the 2023 coming-of-age movie Kho Gaye Hum Kahan.

For those unfamiliar, Call Me Bae is a new comedy-drama television series scripted by Ishita Moitra, Samina Motlekar, and Rohit Nair. It tells the story of a wealthy Delhi diva who suddenly loses everything and is forced to live in Mumbai to make ends meet. It is directed by Colin and produced by Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta's production company, Dharmatic Entertainment.
