Jeff Goldblum's Emotional BAFTAs Tribute: A Star-Studded Farewell!

Jeff Goldblum offers a moving ode to the soldiers who have passed away in the last 12 months. The actor-musician takes part in the BAFTA Awards' Memoriam segment, which takes place at London's Royal Festival Hall at South Bank Center. The Wicked star played As Time Goes By on the piano while the video of the deceased celebs played in the backdrop.
The video featured images of Shelley Duvall, Donald Sutherland, Gena Rowlands, Joan Plowright, Kris Kristofferson, and James Earl Jones during the ceremony's memoriam portion. Actress Maggie Smith from Harry Potter and filmmaker David Lynch from Blue Velvet were two of the famous people whose images remained on the screen till the very end.
Harman Hupfeld wrote the song the actor was performing in 1931, and it gained popularity after it was featured in the 1942 movie Casablanca.
The BAFTA organizers discussed Goldblum's performance and disclosed, “Goldblum’s soulful style will provide a moving and personal tribute.” They further added, “When not acting, Jeff Goldblum has a dedicated following of his jazz band, the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra.”
However, the actor-musician had an incredible year last year, receiving praise for his portrayal of Wizard the Oz in Wicked.
The film received a nomination at the BAFTA Awards. In addition to Goldblum, the film included a number of other actors, including Michelle Yeoh, Jonathan Bailey, Ariana Grande, Bowen Yang, Ethan Slater, and Cynthia Erivo.
