Hollywood in Mourning: Charles Shyer Passes Away!

Charles Shyer, an Oscar-nominated screenwriter and acclaimed filmmaker, was known for crafting some of Hollywood's greatest movies. Shyer passed away at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on December 27, at the age of 83.
Shyer's death was confirmed by his daughter, Hallie Meyers-Shyer, who continues her father's career as a writer and director. She said he had been sick for a few days before to his death. His official cause of death has not been reported.

Hallie Meyers-Shyer dedicated her father's memory with love and respect after his passing, hailing him as a highly unique artist and sharing an old picture of him on social media. The Meyers-Shyer family said they are extremely saddened by Shyer's death and sense a great vacuum in his absence. They brought attention to his enormous and lasting legacy, which endures thanks to his children and fifty years of outstanding work.
In a statement to a daily, the family stated: "It’s with an indescribably heavy heart that we share the news of our beloved father Charles Shyer’s passing. His loss leaves an unfillable hole in our lives, but his legacy lives on through his children and the five decades of wonderful work he’s left behind."
They realized that they would never be able to live without him. "We honor the extraordinary life he led and know there will never be another quite like him," they reveaked.
Charles Shyer, who frequently worked alongside his ex-wife Nancy Meyers, made major contributions to Hollywood's comedy scene in the 1980s. They collaborated to produce iconic movies like Irreconcilable Differences, Baby Boom, and Private Benjamin. One of their most well-known works is the Father of the Bride remake from the 1990s, which starred Steve Martin and resulted in a lucrative follow-up in 1995.
Charles Shyer is survived by his children: Annie, Hallie, Sophia, and Jacob.
