Wed December 04th, 2024
Because lead vocalist John Rzeznik is in the hospital with pneumonia, the Goo Goo Dolls have rescheduled their appearances, which is unfortunate news for fans who had intended to attend their shows in South Africa.
The band announced that the performances would be rescheduled for March 2025 in a video posted on their Instagram page on Monday, December 4.
They conveyed their sadness about having to postpone their performances in South Africa in the caption. The members of the group expressed how much the nation meant to them and how eager they were to create new memories there.
The caption continued, “Sadly, my doctor has advised rest and recovery," the caption continued. "Thank you for your understanding — we’ll make it worth the wait when we return in March 2025!”
Cape Town on March 25, Durban on March 27, and Pretoria on March 29, 2025 are the new dates. According to the band, patrons will receive instructions on how to confirm their attendance or request a refund, whatever they would like, and the tickets will remain good for the rescheduled dates.
The band's frontman, who is in his hospital bed, apologizes to the band's followers in the video for the postponement. The singer revealed that the doctor who initially diagnosed him with the aforementioned ailment asked him to be admitted to the hospital, where he would be "stuck" for a day or two while he recovered.
