Animal, the action-crime movie starring Ranbir Kapoor, has become one of the most financially successful Bollywood productions of the year. Regarding the topic, the Sandeep Reddy Vanga-directed film has also drawn some criticism. Vanga recently discussed the sequence in which Ranbir's character enters a college armed with a gun in great detail.
The director of Animal, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, discussed a scenario in which Ranbir Kapoor's character arrives at his sister's college armed with a rifle after being beaten by her superiors in a tabloid interview. He revealed, “The whole emotion of the scene is when the boy enters the class, he says ‘kisne cheda meri behen ko (who teased my sister)? Everyone will be mocking him saying ‘ab school ke bache bhi chedne lage’ (now school kids will also tease us)."
The filmmaker also added that we see a machine gun round leave the backdrop while the teacher in the clip is discussing heat and mass transfer. The "whole idea of this scene was to get that rifle in the face of the audience," he continued. Vanga declared that all had been a "jalwa" in closing. “That girl says ‘ragging ka season toh abhi shuru bhi nahi hua hai, abhi toh jalwa baki hai’, cut to jalwa. Guitar music and him walking,” he added.
Vanga claimed in a media interview that he toned down some of the film's violent sequences because he thought "it would be too much for the Indian audience." He added that he maintains an IQ that is exactly proportionate to the audience.
