Shabana Azmi shares an emotional note on Farooq Shaikh's death anniversary!

Bollywood's most renowned actor, Farooq Shaikh, was an experienced actor in the film industry. He delighted the audience with a range of his parts over the course of his illustrious lengthy career. From Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani to Biwi Ho To Aisi and Umrao Jaan, he was a force to be reckoned with. Sadly, on December 28, 2013, he passed away in Dubai following a heart attack. Actress Shabana Azmi, a close friend of his, wrote a poignant tribute in his memory on the anniversary of his death.
On this day, December 28, Shabana Azmi posted a lovely photo of the late actor Farooq Shaikh on her Instagram account. In her tweet, the actress paid a touching homage to the actor, recalling their final program together, Tumhari Amrita, which aired over ten years ago. She talked of their "deep friendship" that lasted for forty years.
She posted, “10 years .. I remember so clearly that on 14th Dec we did our last show of Tumhari Amrita in front of the Taj Mahal. I remarked that we can never find a venue to match the Taj and that it should be our last show since we had been playing it for 22 years . Pat came your reply “ why should we pull the curtains on Tumhari Amrita - we will do it for another 22 years!”14 days later you were gone … and with it were washed away a deep friendship of 40 years .. I can never play Amrita again with my Zulfi gone …I miss you Firkee.”.
Notably, Shabana Azmi and Farooq Shaikh appeared together on screen in a number of films, including Anjuman and Ek Pal.
