Keerthy Suresh, an actress from South India, has long had her sights set on a career in Bollywood. Over the years, she has received numerous more offers for Hindi productions, but she has been selective in choosing only those that are deserving of her time given her obligations in the South. Now that we hear that the Mahanati actress is finally making a Bollywood leap in her career, it appears that her patience has paid off.
Keerthy Suresh will make her Bollywood debut alongside Varun Dhawan, according to a media source. The National Award-winning actress, who has starred in films like Miss India, Rang De, Vaashi, and Dasara, has been cast as the title character in Tamil director Kalees' next action comedy starring Varun. "Keerthy was looking for certain elements in her Bollywood launch vehicle, and this Varun Dhawan film perfectly aligns with her preferences. She will portray a strong and glamorous character in this commercial flick filled with emotions, drama, and action. After establishing herself down South with her exceptional acting prowess and natural charm, Keerthy is all set to spread her wings pan-India, and #VD18 is just the first step towards that," a source close to the development revealed to the media, adding that the film features one more actress, and while Keerthy is already signed, the casting for the second is still underway.
Beginning next month in Mumbai, the film's untitled principal photography will take place. The production team appears to have set aside a three-month window to wrap things off by November in order to hit the big screen by May 31, 2024. The movie, titled #VD18, is described as an action-packed dramatic entertainer that would captivate viewers with its compelling plot, strong acting, and high-octane action sequences. According to reports, Varun will play a police officer in this movie, which is being made by Murad Khetani (Cine1 Studios) and Priya Atlee (A For Apple Studios). Varun was most recently seen as a werewolf in Amar Kaushik's Bhediya. Atlee Kumar, the director of Jawan, is introducing the movie.
