Gulshan Devaiah to react on why Janhvi Kapoor starrer Ulajh did not work! Mon August 12th, 2024

Ulajh, starring Janhvi Kapoor and Gulshan Devaiah, had a dismal debut weekend at the box office. The thrill-seekers were unimpressed with the suspense drama. In response to the topic of why Ulajh did not succeed, Gulshan stated in a recent interview that while certain elements of a film may pique viewers' interest, they may not have in Ulajh's instance.

Gulshan Devaiah claimed in an interview with a tabloid that he had no idea why Janhvi Kapoor and him did not succeed with Ulajh. The actor admitted that he sometimes wonders why he watches a movie.

Gulshan mentioned how he preferred the first half of Deadpool to Deadpool & Wolverine, adding that every movie has an element that makes it truly spectacular.

He went on to say that people expect something from Salman Khan, Alia Bhatt, and Rajkummar Rao, which is why they get thrilled when their films are released.

"So there is something that you can expect from them, but some of their films also do not work sometimes. So rather than worrying about what people liked or did not like about Ulajh, I just say that when I myself have some certain standards that I follow why I watch, so it's possible that it did not appeal to people. Maybe they did not like the trailer, or there could be a variety of reasons. But we do our best sometimes it’s not good enough. It's not really the audience's fault," Devaiah revealed.

We witness Suhana Bhatia (Janhvi Kapoor) in Ulajh, an IFS (Indian Foreign Services) Officer appointed as Deputy High Commissioner of the High Commission of India in London, coming from a family of nationalists. Her coworkers hate her for having so easily risen to the rank of DHC, most likely due to her wealthy family background.

After around three months, she develops love feelings for a man who poses as Michelin-starred chef Nakul (Gulshan Devaiah). Up until something happens that causes her personal life become more personal than her professional life, everything is going well for her both personally and professionally.
