Sunny Deol Joins Aamir Khan for Rajkumar Santoshi's Epic Drama Lahore 1947! Thu November 28th, 2024

In Rajkumar Santoshi's Lahore 1947, Sunny Deol and Aamir Khan have teamed up. Preity Zinta leads the period-drama, which is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. Even though the movie's filming is already over, Mr. Perfectionist has recommended certain scene modifications, therefore Deol will be coming back for the song and patchwork shot.

According to several media sources, Aamir Khan has proposed some changes for the next movie, Lahore 1947. According to reports, Deol just finished filming Jaat and is returning to the set of the historical drama directed by Rajkumar Santoshi.

“Aamir was going through the first cut of Lahore 1947 and felt that a few sequences could benefit from more dramatic storytelling. He shared his insight with Santoshi, and they unanimously agreed to bring in additional shots that can elevate the story’s visual intensity,” a source was quoted as saying.

Sunny Deol voluntarily consented to change his schedule to work on the patchwork, which is scheduled to start in the second week of December, according to the report. The magazine has also been informed by a team member that a song is being added to enhance the story's grandeur. At Mehboob Studios, a set has also been built for the same, and work is scheduled to start on December 1.

“The team is looking at a 10 to 15-day shoot, which will include filming the song as well as some additional shots that will amplify the effect of crucial scenes. Sunny sir will wrap the patch shoot before going to Kashmir for the Border 2 shoot,” the source further revealed.

As previously said, Lahore 1947, which is based on the Punjabi play Jis Lahore Nai Dekhya O Jamyai Nai, tells the story of a Muslim family who move to Lahore from Lucknow and are given a haveli that a Hindu family left behind. When they discover an elderly Hindu woman residing in the Haweli, claiming her rights and refusing to leave, drama breaks out.

Abhimanyu Singh will play a supporting role in the movie, which is starring Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta. Although a release date has not yet been disclosed, there are rumors circulating in the Lahore industry: 1947 plans to be released on Republic Day in 2025.
