Deepak Chopra, a new age leader and bestselling author, presented Ekta Kapoor with the prestigious "International Emmy Directorate Award" during the 51st International Emmys in New York. She won the International Emmy Directorate Award, making history as the first Indian female filmmaker to do so. Following her victory, she uploaded a video of her acceptance speech, to which Karan Johar has since responded.
Ekta Kapoor recently posted a video of her International Emmy Awards acceptance speech to her Instagram account. She thanked her father Jeetendra and her brother Tusshar Kapoor for watching her kid Ravi while she recapped her journey from founding her business in his garage. Resharing her remarks on his Instagram story, Karan Johar praised her with the caption, "Solid speech."
During the early few years of her work, Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor were referred to as "lady producers," according to her speech. They founded Balaji Telefilms in Jeetendra's garage. “The irony is the world’s population is solely produced by women,” she revealed. She continued by expressing her gratitude to the men in her life, including her brother Tusshar Kapoor and father Jeetendra, for watching her son Ravi.
“You make my home wholesome if not conventional. I’d like to thank our two boys, my son and my nephew – Laksshya and Ravi, our surrogate babies who taught me the toughest paths can sometimes lead you to magic. I’m a single mother,” she told.
After that, Ekta Kapoor dedicated the prize to India, stating that she sees a mirror image of herself there. “You’ve been pulled, pushed, conquered, ruled and as you found your freedom, you found your voice,” she told.
