Virat Kohli pens a heartfelt note for wife Anushka Sharma after India's historic win! Tue July 02nd, 2024

On June 29, 2024, India won the T20 World Cup trophy for the second time in 17 years. Following the game, Virat Kohli, who scored 76 runs to win the Man of the Match award, declared his retirement from the Twenty20 format.

A while back, Virat sent a heartfelt note of thanks along with a photo of himself and his wife Anushka Sharma on social media.

After winning the T20 World Cup, Virat Kohli thanked his wife Anushka Sharma on June 30 by posting a cute photo of the two of them.

The duo is seen laughing together and holding drinks in the photo. They posed before a picturesque hillside backdrop. Virat was dressed casually, while the actress was dressed in white.

He shared the photo and wrote, "None of this would remotely be possible without you my love. You keep me humble, grounded and you always say it how it is with absolute honesty. I couldn’t be more grateful for you. This victory is as much yours as it’s mine. Thank you and I love you for being YOU (red hearts)"

Notably, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and captain Rohit Sharma of India also declared their retirement from the same format following Virat.

Anushka congratulated Team India on their victory over South Africa on her Instagram account following the thrilling final match. She talked about memorable memories during the game and disclosed the main worry of her and Virat's daughter Vamika.

She posted, "Our daughter's biggest concern was if all the players had someone to hug them after she saw them cry on tv….. Yes, My darling, they were hugged by 1.5 billion people. What a phenomenal victory and what a legendary achievement!! CHAMPIONS - CONGRATULATIONS!!”

The pleased wife shared a photo of her husband holding the prize in a another post and wrote, "AND ….. I love this man @virat.kohli . So grateful to call you my home - now go have a glass of sparkling water for me to celebrate this!.”

Bollywood stars, including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Varun Dhawan, Ayushmann Khurrana, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Ranveer Singh, and others, congratulated Team India on their second T20 World Cup victory since 2007.
