After a successful acting career, Twinkle Khanna is now an author. She talked about the difficulties she has had juggling many responsibilities as a woman. She emphasized the conflict between recognizing that women frequently shoulder the majority of family obligations and advocating for marital equality. Akshay Kumar, a well-known Bollywood actor, is Twinkle's husband.
In a recent interview with a tabloid, Twinkle Khanna said that although women see themselves as quite modern, they still have to take care of things like cooking, cleaning, hanging drapes, and changing diapers in addition to working a full-time job. She asked how feminism got them into this predicament.
She further added, “I was this big flag bearer of equality. But equality has meant double the work. It’s not okay. So I’m equal; you will treat me with respect, but I’m doing double of everything. It’s tough either way.”
She went on to say that there are other factors to think about, which makes not working difficult. She further revealed, “There’s a certain independence that you enjoy when you are working because you feel a little bit like saying, ‘Okay, I’m bringing this much to the table, so I have a right to sit at this table.”
Twinkle went on to say that when her daughter Nitara sees her in the morning using a computer, she assumes Twinkle is working on something and looks away. Twinkle feels obligated to return to work in order to maximize her time with him, even though she would prefer to spend it together. The former actress then amusingly remarked, “They’re going to wind up in therapy regardless and blame us. So, I’m not worried about that.”
