Bipasha Basu to reveal about daughter Devi's surgery!
Devi, the first child of Bollywood couple Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover, was born in November of the previous year. They frequently share images and videos of their little child and their family time with their followers. Bipasha recently talked openly about the difficulties she encountered after giving birth to her child in an interview with Neha Dhupia. She shared the terrible account of how her infant had two holes in her heart and required surgery when she was just three months old.

On August 5, actress Bipasha Basu went live on Instagram with Neha Dhupia to discuss her pregnancy and parenthood experience. Bipasha spoke candidly about a frightening and painful incident she had soon after giving birth when asked about the challenging times she had to face as a mother. She disclosed that three days after giving birth, she and her husband Karan discovered that their daughter was born with two holes in her heart. When Devi was just three months old, a ventricular septal defect required surgery. Bipasha also told, “It’s been a lot tougher than the smile that I have on my face and I don't wish for this to happen to any mother.”

While the dialogue was still going on, the actress started crying and showed signs of being unhappy. She further added, “We didn't even understand what a VSD is. It is a ventricular septal defect... We went through a crazy period. We didn't discuss this with our family, we both were in a little bit of a blur. We wanted to celebrate but we were a little numb, me and Karan. The first five months have been very difficult for us. But Devi has been fabulous from day one.”

Additionally, Bipasha discussed her feelings during that trying period and how choosing to put your child through that is a very difficult choice. “You feel so sad, so burdened, so conflicted because how can you put such a small child in an open heart surgery. I remember during the third month we had gone for a scan. I had done the research, met surgeons in the hospitals, spoken to doctors. Karan was not ready, I was ready to kick this out of her,” she told.

She continued by saying that her daughter was now OK and that she wanted to share her experience in order to inform other mothers. The Raaz actress told, “It is the toughest thing to have your little child and have these ten doctors explain to you what all can happen. Devi had a very successful operation, but those 6 hours when she was in the OT, my life felt like it stopped.”
