Since Matt Reeves' Batman movie came out, fans of superheroes have been wondering what will happen to the characters and the universe in the future. The Reeves films were said to be a part of DC Else World when it was revealed that they would not be a part of the DCU. Nonetheless, there is a fascinating update regarding the rumored addition of a spinoff from the universe to the James Gunn-led DC Universe.
The new DCU is developing a number of initiatives, each of which is in a distinct level of production. Although it was already known that Reeves is creating a television series based in Arkham Asylum, Gunn, the co-CEO of DC Studios, provided an update on the project on Threads, revealing a significant new development.

Although it was already known that Reeves is creating a television series based in Arkham Asylum, Gunn, the co-CEO of DC Studios, provided an update on the project on Threads, revealing a significant new development. "Right now Matt is producing Arkham as a DCU series, so there's just the two [The Batman Part II and The Penguin] for now," told the filmmaker when asked if The Batman director had any other Batverse projects in development.
In order to give DC's film slate a fresh start and ultimately drop the DCEU in favor of introducing the new DCU, the project was revealed prior to the DCU. The new executives were appointed for this purpose. When questioned over the alleged move, James Gunn disclosed that the program will initially be developed as a spinoff for The Batman, Gunn curiously told, "It wasn't changed."
