Shah Rukh Khan opens up on working in Hollywood!
Shah Rukh Khan disclosed that he was in fact approached for the hosting position in Danny Boyle's Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire at the World Government Summit 2024 in Dubai. Although SRK hosted the Indian version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire (Kaun Banega Crorepati), he turned down the Hollywood opportunity, which ultimately resulted in Anil Kapoor taking over the job.

With his confession, Khan illuminates a point of contact between his Hollywood and Bollywood endeavours, suggesting an intriguing relationship between the famed filmmaker's offer and his time as host.

Shah Rukh Khan mentioned his close relationship with director Danny Boyle while acknowledging his association with Slumdog Millionaire during the ceremony. He was obligated to host Who Wants to be a Millionaire (Kaun Banega Crorepati) on television, thus he turned down the movie part. The film's narrative features a dishonest and unscrupulous host, a character that Shah Rukh voiced concern with. He told, “I was cheating and being dishonest as the host (in the movie). So I just found that it’s very strange that I’m being a host (on KBC) and I’m cheating in the film. So I explained to Mr Boyle that I wouldn’t like to do it, please, and there are way better actors than me. And I think Mr Anil Kapoor did it and he was fantastic as the host.”

Speaking about his Hollywood chances, Shah Rukh Khan made it clear that, despite their discussions, he has not received any firm offers for significant crossover roles. During the World Government Summit 2024, where he was among the two Indians invited, he frankly said, "I've honestly mentioned this, and it's hard for people to believe. So, I'll tell you with complete honesty – nobody has presented me with any substantial crossover work. While I've conversed with individuals in the English and American film industry, I'm yet to receive any enticing opportunities." In interviews with Western business leaders, the Dunki actor emphasized the lack of firm offers.
