Nawazuddin Siddiqui talked candidly about his appearance and asked why some people find it offensive in an interview with a media outlet. “Kyunki shakal hee aisi hai – itne badsurat hai humlog. Humein bhi lagta hai jab apne aap ko aaine mein dekhte hai,” added the actor. He went on to say that he even asks himself why he entered the movie business looking so horrible.
 
He continued by saying, “I’m the ugliest actor – physically – in the film industry.” He said, "I believed this because I've been listening to all of this from the beginning and I'm starting to agree with it now." In addition, he praised Bollywood for recognizing him fairly. Nawazuddin expressed gratitude to the directors for providing him with a range of characters and said he has received no complaints from the industry. He said in closing that this sector will provide you a lot even if you have a little talent. Discrimination occurs in society, not in the business.
