During a recent Zoom chat with his fans, the nation's heartthrob, superstar Ranbir Kapoor, who was most recently seen this year in the romantic comedy Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, was asked about his forthcoming ventures by a fan. According to reports, Ranbir will appear in Nitesh Tiwari's biography on Kishore Kumar and the Ramayana. The actor has since spoken out about it and stated that Ramayana is a significant undertaking.
Nitesh Tiwari of Dangal and Chhichhore fame will direct the magnum opus, which will also co-star Sai Pallavi as Sita and KGF actor Yash as Raavan. Our sources claim that the cast is also in discussions with Sunny Deol, who starred in Gadar, to play Lord Hanuman.
Kapoor was questioned on the Zoom platform regarding his upcoming schedule. Ranbir Kapoor discussed the trilogy based on the epic story in a Zoom interaction, he said, "Ramayana is such a project which is such a big project where they need so much of work to go behind it.”
The Rockstar further added, “So, nothing has been finalized. I hope it does. But as of right now, I have been hearing a lot of subjects, but nothing…”
The actor claimed that following Ramayana, he has been hearing a lot of topics, one of which is the biopic of the illustrious Kishore Kumar. He also mentioned how eager he was for director Anurag Basu to read the script aloud at the month's conclusion.
Speaking about the movie, Kapoor revealed, “Even the Kishore Kumar biopic that Anurag Basu has been working on. He has also been writing the script. He has been working on it for many years. I’m going to hear that script at the end of this month.” Even though he has read a few screenplays, nothing so far has caught Kapoor's attention, he admitted.
For those who are unaware, the project was intended to be made long ago following the success of Barfi but was never able to get off the ground because of copyright disputes with the family of Kishore Kumar. According to recent reports from September 2023, the problem has been resolved, and filmmaker Basu has resumed production on the project, which is currently being produced by Kishore Kumar Films and T-Series.
